On this page we wanted to recognize the cats who have played such an important part in making our program what it is today.

Lexie is a brown mackerel tabby and was our first breeding female.  She is very true the older lines of her pedigree.  She has a moderate yet feral look, the typical long, shaggy coat, lots of toe tufts, ear tufts and lynx tipping.  She is perfectly balanced with a powerful, solid build.  Lexie was a very important part of our breeding program, her lines have continued on in our program through CH Coonwyck Remembering Emma, CH Coonwyck Nanook and GC Coonwyck Savannah

Willow came to us as an adult after having her first litter with another breeder.  We were thrilled to have her as part of our program because although she also was from older lines they were different from Lexie's and Willow had the head type we were looking for.  She was longer in the muzzle with an amazing profile and chin and had slightly larger, higher-set ears.  Willow gave us a very special and beautiful daughter to keep from her first litter - GC/CH Coonwyck Kaylee - who continued on and was also a very important part of our program.

Chynna was the third female we added to our breeding program to round out the foundation of our program.  We were excited and thrilled to have her come to us from Coonyham, a very well-known cattery in California.  Chynna gave us a more extreme look - very long in the muzzle, a major chin, big, tall ears and a lot of length in the body and legs.  Chynna also had that exceptional personality (albeit a bit of ditzy :-) that she passed onto her babies.  Chynna gave us our outstanding, gorgeous and every bit as dingy SGC, RW Coonwyck Jasmina, who also went on to give us some wonderful offspring and continue what has become the longest line of generations for us so far.

Dyllan was our first stud male, who always gave us very pretty, sweet babies.  Some of those beautiful babies who carried on his line are GC Coonwyck Maggie Mae of Irishcoons, CH Coonwyck Desert Dawn of Rose Petals, CH Coonwyck Aramina of Star Ridge and Coonwyck Sienna Jade.  Dyllan still remains in a couple of our pedigrees today as grandfather or great-grandfather.

Emmie was the first daughter we kept from our first female, Lexie.  She has the same "old" Maine Coon looks, heft and size as her mother but with slightly larger ears, a more pleasant (less feral) expression, more length and height and a sweeter personality. :-)  She was one of the most prolific cats and a fantastic mother.  She passed many of her wonderful traits onto her daughter, GC Coonwyck Talutah of Moosecoons, who also went on to produce a couple of grand champions in her daughter and grandson, bred and loved by Susan Blevins of Moosecoons.

We kept Mina from Chynna's first litter, what a kitten!!!  Mina was outstanding from the time she was a young kitten and just continued to grow and mature into a gorgeous example of the breed.  Mina was successful in the show hall right from the start and loved being a show kitty!  She went on to become our first Supreme Grand Champion in TICA and was also a Regional Winner both as a kitten and as an adult.  We could've have been more excited and proud of her and all that she accomplished!  In her second litter, Mina gave us a daughter who was almost a clone of her in beauty, type and temperament, another true show cat was born, SGC, RW Coonwyck Breakfast at Tiffanys.  Along with "Bug" were her two outstanding sisters who also went on to have successful show careers and mothers - GC Coonwyck Serenity of Mellokat and GC Coonwyck Paraphernalia Kittikop (now of Hollishill) - aka Confetti.  She also gave us two other beautiful daughters, GC Coonwyck Highland Fling, CH Coonwyck Aramina of Star Ridge and Coonwyck Sienna Jade.

Kaylee, who is Willow's daughter, was the kitten we kept from our first litter and knew she'd be staying as soon as she was born.  Still soaking wet, she had all that pattern like a marble cake and was just gorgeous.  As she matured she continued to get more beautiful and we were so proud of her.  She is majorly spoiled and knows that she is a princess.  To this day, she and I hold a special bond and while I know she's a brat sometimes :-) I couldn't adore her more.  Kaylee has given us some beautiful babies who are continuing on with her line, type, temperament and health.  A girl from her first litter, GC Coonwyck Maggie Mae of Irishcoons, went to our good friend Lynn and was not only a successful show cat but has been a staple for Lynn in her program.  Kaylee's daughters, Coonwyck Hayley Jade of Mellokat and Coonwyck Mokeena are carrying on her line now that she is retired, as well as Coonwyck Tullamore Dew and CH Coonwyck Orion of Star Ridge who still have offspring in breeding programs.

Piper was an exciting addition for us as I had always loved and admired her gorgeous grandfather, Majerle.  She had a very different pedigree and had all the physical characteristics that we loved.  Her very first litter proved to be everything we hoped for.  She and Reiley gave us three outstanding kittens - SGC, RW Coonwyck O'Malley, CH Coonwyck Naomi of Mellokat and CH Coonwyck Jetta of Kelim Coons.  Piper retired from the show hall twice to have babies before finally earning the title of Supreme Grand Champion in TICA, and she so deserved it!  Both Naomi and Jetta are still an important part of the programs they're part of and we're so proud of them.

Tabasco was another very exciting addition for us because of his different and diverse pedigree from what we had here.  He had many great assets to offer our program and along with his friend and roommate, CH Irishcoons Reiley of Coonwyck, became the cornerstone of our program for many years.  Tabasco consistently gave us beautiful, typey kittens with lots of personality and good health.  Among the many wonderful kittens he produced for us are those who became part of our own program and went on to be an important part to friends, including GC Coonwyck Talutah of Moosecoons, CH Coonwyck Ricochet of Kittikop, Coonwyck Chiquita of Pawstuctaway, SGC, RW Coonwyck Breakfast at Tiffanys, GC Coonwyck Paraphernalia of Kittikop (now of Hollishill), GC Coonwyck Serenity of Mellokat, Coonwyck Little Man, CH Coonwyck McKaylah, CH Coonwyck White Fire of Kellycat and CH Coonwyck Sattine.  We were so happy to have Tabasco as part of our program, he was and always will be such a special boy and we wouldn't be where we are today without him. :-)

O'Malley was another one-in-a-million type kittens like Jasmina but this time in it was a boy!  He was gorgeous and outstanding from the moment he was born and just continued to get more handsome as he grew and matured.  He has an undeniable masculine look about him that catches many an eye.  He has huge ears with paint brush lynx tips, huge, expressive eyes and a big, chunky muzzle and chin.  Malley was successful in the show hall right from the start.  He did very well as a kitten and continued to do so as an adult.  Once the hormones hit he wasn't overly thrilled some of the time but he still showed well and finished up the season with not on the title of Supreme Grand Champion (our first male SGC!!!) but also Regional Winner awards as both a kitten and an adult.  He did not produce all that many litters for us as we decided to retire him early but he is carrying on through children and grandchildren of note - GC Coonwyck Highland Fling, Mellokat Hot Fudge Sundae, (CFA) GC Rose Petals Miss Molly of Black Tye, (ACFA) GC, RW Rose Petals Penobscot Hiamovi, Rose Petals Mojave of Coonwyck, Coonwyck Gilmore Girl of Irishcoons (aka Sookie), (ACFA) GC, RW Rose Petals Dakota Hunter and (CFA) GP, (ACFA) GCA Rose Petals Sir Bartholomew.
